What is the Partnership?
The partnership is a financial relationship between you, Lloyd Collective and Kiva. Kiva is an international non-profit that provides crowd-sourced microloans all over the world to small business owners. If you meet the pre-requisites, you can get a 0% interest crowd-funded Kiva loan, which can cover the costs of your business registry, website, electronic health record and Create Opportunity mentorship.
Lloyd Collective is a Kiva trustee. Once your loan goes live, Lloyd Collective will step in to fund the loan up to $1500. Your family and friends can pitch in too, if you like. You’ll have 36 months to pay the loan back. Once it’s paid back, it will be available for the next therapist.
What does this all mean? More of YOU in the field, in the community, creating representation and opportunity for others.
Why a Partnership?
The mental health therapy private practice field is primarily filled with white, cisgender, heterosexual, US-born, female-identifying people. We need more representation of all people in the business realm of our profession. Yet, history privileges and favors only a certain group, the dominant group. That can include financial privileges.

If it seems like a good fit based on your application, Lloyd Collective will email you and schedule a video call to discuss your financial goals, business values (we’re seeking anti-oppressive therapists), and how the loan works.

You’ll go to Kiva and apply for the loan, then your loan will go live and you can invite family, friends or just Lloyd Collective to help fund it.

Pay back the loan within 36 months (most pay back within 6 months) at 0% interest. As soon as you have, it will be put to use for the next therapist! You are part of a broader community of therapists supporting one another.
